Tales of the Sole

Just a fantastic weekend out at the Vermont 50!  The foliage was breath taking and the people, well they are inspiring in all kinds of ways.  Congrats to all that participated and HUGE props go out to all of those that put that beast of a race on.  It takes years off of your life...  I speak from experience.  It is completely rewarding but when the athletes leave to go home there is still so much to do.  Mike Silverman and staff are AMAZING!

Ok a few updates on a few of the goings on with winter event organization.  We now officially have $5000 dollars and counting raised to give to the school district with the most percentage participation in our 2013 Winter Wild series.  I say and counting as there is another foundation out there that maybe contributing in the next few weeks.  Last year we gave away $2000 to Bow school district courtesy of Lake Sunapee Bank,  who won the "Lets Move" challenge.  They ended up purchasing a grooming machine for their snowmobile to help maintain the trails this winter for the nordic team.  I need your help to get the word out to the school districts here locally.  This is a FREE program all around that encourages children of all ages to get active in the winter months and potentially win $5000 for their school.   All info can be located @ www.winterwild.com   Please let your local school know about the program.

On that note it is probably time for us to start looking at ways to attract the other end of the spectrum.  How do we get more seniors to join us out this winter at Winter Wild.  This really is an event for everyone and we have been seeing an increase in the 50 and up categories.  I just would like to get more of them involved much like what we are trying to do with the youth of the region.  Desperately seeking ideas!!

Enjoy the beautiful foliage!
