Tales of the Sole

Wanted to start a new chapter as we approach fall.  I have neglected writing my own blog entries for some time and honestly I have no legitimate reason for it other than I have grown tired of reading my own stuff.  With that said I was trail running this weekend to avoid watching the pathetic Patriots game and was inspired to start putting some thoughts down on a weekly basis.  Its not hard it is really just more about getting motivated to be motivated about life.  Ok so now that I am motiovated what to say.....

This weekend I was definitely more or less stuck in a rut about getting myself in gear and get out the door to do something active.  I pulled myself together both days and got in nothing less that 8 miles each day on my own and managed to get in a few "Huck Finn" hours of trapsing around the woods with my kiddos.  Man do I miss being a kiddo!!

Courtney Marshall,  A true ambassador to "ACTIVE LIVING!"

Come Monday once again I was still feeling like I could not find the motivation to get off my duff.  Then the worse news anybody can get came over the wire...  a local "Running Friend" has passed much too early in life.  Ok that got my attention..  WHAT?  Last week we had a great documentary and panel discussion about "Running the Rockpile".  Courtney Marshall and his lovely wife, Beverly were a part of that presentation and he really stoked peoples interest in the event.  Gosh I want to do it now and I dislike road running.  That says a lot about Courtney's passion for running in general!  I am hoping to have a moment of silence this coming weekend during our last event to acknowledge Courtney and his ZEST for life!  Any of you that may have run with Courtney and/or just have been around him know how infectious his smile was and how he could light up a room!  I hope that I am as active as he has been into the golden years of life....  Cheers Courtney!  See you in the woods!
